Corticobasal degeneration is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the degeneration of nerve cells in the brain's cortex and basal ganglia. This condition affects movement, cognition, and behavior, and there are several synonyms for this disorder. These include corticobasal syndrome, corticobasal ganglionic degeneration, or CBGD for short. Some other synonymous terms for this condition include cortical-basal ganglionic degeneration and corticostriatonigral degeneration.
